Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope you are all enjoying the last few days of April! We have been so busy in Dragon class lately. In science class, we've been building waterproof "roofs" for our stuffed Dragon using materials ranging from aluminum foil to cheesecloth and felt. For social studies, we've been checking out our homes and communities using a combination of books and Google Earth. We're learning about coins and money in math class, and finishing up some final writing projects in Mandarin. So much to do, so little time! As of today, there are only 37 days left until the kindergarteners become grown-up first graders! The countdown has begun, and the students are excited!

This Thursday, April 30th, will be our field trip to . Students will have a chance to meet the animals at the Little Farm, take an interactive hike with a ranger, and (hopefully) see some reptiles in the wild! To prepare for the field trip, please pack the following for your child on Thursday: Tilden Park
(1) Celery or lettuce to feed to the animals in the Little Farm
(2) Snack and lunch (preferably nothing that requires silverware!)
(3) Water bottle (it will be over 80 degrees on Thursday, so it'll be important to stay hydrated!)
(4) Sunscreen
(5) Hat
We also have another field trip (our last of the year) on May 12th to the Oakland Zoo. I will send out more details about that in a later blog post!
Hope you all have a wonderful week,
